This project replaced the existing York Bridge No. 225C on NE 116th Street at the Sammamish River. The new structure includes a pile supported concrete arch substructure with a precast girder and cast in place deck superstructure. The superstructure was made up of W42G precast concrete girders. The deck was a cast in place concrete deck with 2’-7½” to 8’-7½” overhangs creating view areas. The bridge was then topped off with decorative cast in place concrete barrier and sidewalks. Structural earth walls retain the fills on either end of the bridge. The west end of the bridge is backfilled with geofoam to prevent settlement of the roadway. Extensive landscaping and artwork completed the project to blend in with the region and the environment.
