Client/Owner: King County Department of Transportation
Location: North Bend, WA
Cost: $3,300,000 (Total Contract Value)

This project involved removal and replacement of the SE Edgewick Road Bridge over the South Fork of the Snoqualmie River.  In order to maintain uninterrupted traffic over the river during construction and create access for construction, two parallel trestles on the west side of the existing structure were erected.  The trestle closest to the existing bridge was designed for construction access, including the 100-ton crawler needed for removal and construction of the new bridge.  The second trestle was a detour bridge designed for signal-controlled, one-way alternating traffic.  The structural steel truss was erected from temporary falsework supported on 24” pipe piles driven in the river.  Piles and falsework were installed and removed working from the trestle.  Structural steel units were pre-assembled and hoisted into place with a 100-ton crane working from the trestle.  The new structure provides a picturesque single 213’ span across the river.
