This project involved a new Columbia Way undercrossing in North Portland to connect Columbia Blvd. and Killingsworth St., replacing an aging, narrow undercrossing nearby. Mowat’s subcontract was responsible to construct two 2-Span, single-track plate girder bridges for the Union Pacific Railroad mainline of tracks. The mainline bridge had a 90’ span and a 110’ span for a total length of 200’. The siding bridge had two 90’ spans for a total length of 180’. Mowat also constructed seven cast-in-place retaining walls with architectural finish for the project, as well as constructing four architectural finish facia walls against drilled-shaft retaining walls.
