Safety is a core value at Mowat Construction Company and the need to keep our people safe permeates our entire organization. Other priorities may change but safety will not be compromised. Maintaining a Zero Accident environment on our worksites remains our highest priority and we achieve this through rigorous training programs, employing best work practices engaging innovative people, and continuously refining our processes and approach. Effective safety programs go well beyond traditional training programs. Our award winning internal safety programs are developed and taught in house and use a hands-on approach to solve safety issues. Recent awards include -

National Construction Safety Excellence Award

In recognition of company management commitment, active employee participation, safety training, work site hazard identification and control, and safety program innovation – Mowat received the National AGC 2013 Construction Excellence Award.

Recognition Of Safety Excellence (Rose) Award

Mowat received the 2012 and 2011 ROSE Award from the AGC Oregon-Columbia Chapter in recognition of our excellence in safety leadership.

Safety and Health Awareness Award

For our untiring efforts to constantly evolve our safety program, Mowat received the distinguished National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) 2012 Safety and Health Awareness Award from the NAWIC Puget Sound Chapter #60.

John D Spellman Award

In recognition of our significant achievements in safety, the Evergreen Safety Council awarded Mowat Construction the 2011 John D. Spellman Safety Award. Mr. Spellman was King County’s first elected County Executive and Washington’s 18th Governor.

Alaska Excellence In Safety Award

The Marsh & McLennan Agency sponsored 2011 AGC of Alaska Excellence in Safety Award has been presented to Mowat to recognize our excellence in promoting safety. We were awarded top honors in the small construction company division for developing and implementing excellent safety and loss prevention programs.
